2007 – in progress
In may of 2007 year take place an expedition from Ukraine to Georgia country on the ship chaika “Spas” to formate a friendship relations between this countries and set a human democracy. In future was the planned hikes to Europe and later over the Atlantic ocean, actually for that purpose chaika was built and the project of “Cossacks Atlantic” was begun. But already two years “SPAS” can`t be registered in Ukraine exactly as a historical boat, through what a project is in danger.
It is a documentary project about this boat and people that gathered together on it.
And during a long time the boat not alowed to leave Ukraine it was sailing along Dnipro river, training alot of children from Plast scout organisation how to sail, making improvement to boat and sailing armament hoping to hit the big water in the future.
… ten years after in 2017 the second big expedition on chaika Spas took place over the Black Sea to Istambul and Sea of Marmara.
But after this expedition, the boat was in terrible condition – it was necessary to repair the sides and deck, which took three years.
And with the begining of full-scale Invasion of russia in Ukraine the boat was abandoned and almost the entire crew went to the Army.
