{ Pixelization ]
{ The post-Soviet Ukraine society (1990-2000) perceived the army as an atavism of an old system. Society was transforming, and orientations and values were changing. The army was a state within a state, a system within a system. The military themselves believed that they would not have to fight and considered service as a job where they had to earn merit and receive titles and awards... But with the beginning of the war between Ukraine and Russia, the paradigm changed, and the narrative of the country itself changed. Society understood why they needed an army and provided it with a credit of trust.
These old photos of the Soviet military are coming with a pixelated pattern of modern Ukrainian camouflage. This creates a contrast between what was and what is, a contrast between old and new military paradigms, and between old and new approaches to preserving the memory of war.
